My Studio [Daily Prompt: First!]

Tell us about your first day at something — your first day of school, first day of work, first day living on your own, first day blogging, first day as a parent, whatever.  Photographers, artists, poets: show us BEGINNING.

First day of living on my own.  That was a new chapter in my life.  Well it was supposed to be.

It was a different feeling.  I remember putting my stuff away and I didn’t really have any furniture yet.  My friend, Angela gave me her futon bed and when I first moved all I had was the futon mattress on the floor.  I even had the lamp and tv resting on the floor also.  The first night I slept in my apartment, I felt freedom.

This small studio apartment was MINE.  I could come and go as I please and it was a peaceful feeling.  I lived alone for about 3-4 months before my ex started staying over permanently.  Then it became the first time I was living with someone.

Now I have a new place for a little over a year now.  My days living there, I was nervous.  It was after a break up and I had didn’t have hot water for the first week living there so that made me anxious.  I was taking cold showers or taking showers at my old place after I was moving the rest of my stuff out.  I didn’t sleep well for a while.  Actually, I still can’t seem to get comfortable in the new place.  Which will lead to my boyfriend and I moving to a new place!  I just don’t know when.

Then I will have another first day in a new place to talk about!
