…for tomorrow we die. The world is ending tomorrow! Tell us about your last dinner — the food, your dining companions, the setting, the conversation. Photographers, artists, poets: show us DINNER.
If the world ended tomorrow and I was aware of it, I don’t think dinner would be on the top of my list to plan for. Food would probably be the last thing I would even want or be concerned with.
I think about the tomorrows being my last day and I am not thinking of my supper, I am thinking more about who I will miss, what I wish I could take with me and the idea of not existing, how it scares me.
BUT – if I had to really pick, I would just put everything I like on one table and pick from it all.
Pizza, spinach wheels, fresh prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, Pepsi, Slim Jims, Swedish fish, salami and cheese sandwiches, dry sausages, bread, cheese, bread, cheese, meatballs, raw clams, raw oysters, potato soup, bacon both pork and turkey, french fries, scrambled eggs, fried eggs and juice!
And if today is my last day and all that’s left to think about is food, I’d wake up early and make my dinner last from early AM to 11:59pm. I mean if I am going to do this, I have to do it right.
My dining companions would be the love of my life which is my boyfriend, my family and my close friends. Hoping that it’s not their last dinner the same day as mine because they might not want to eat what I am having or spend their last hours eating with me. So this is if the world as I know it is ending for just me.
Conversation is obviously going to be about the world ending and what a gluttonous menu this is.
I picture us sitting in a dim room during the night, sitting on the floor and keeping it simple.
