Tranquility [Daily Prompt: On the Edge]

We all have things as need to do to keep an even keel — blogging, exercising, reading, cooking. What’s yours?  Photographers, artists, poets: show us ACTIVITY.  via Daily Prompt: On the Edge.

To keep on an even keel, I usually write in my journal.  Although, sometimes taking the edge off in my journal can cause me to be more on edge.

One activity that distracts my brain from stress is drawing.  I don’t draw a lot because it takes patience and I don’t always have it but when I do it distracts me from all other things.  It puts a lot of my focus on the drawing itself and hides any worries I may have in the meantime.

Of course, another activity that keeps me balance and one that I really enjoy is blogging.  Blogging is a lot like writing in my journal but there is less negativity involved in doing it.  Plus, I enjoy that it is a public forum for others to read and send feedback.  Mostly, I enjoy reaching out to other people who can agree or disagree with my perspective but will ultimately make him or her think.

I am most at peace when I am able to successfully create something that once was a thought in my mind.

It is neither wealth nor splendor; but tranquility and occupation which give you happiness.
