Why Do You Like This? [Daily Prompt: Great or Greatest?]

Daily Prompt: Great or Greatest?.

What makes a blog great? What makes you follow a blog or “Like” a post?

Photographers, artists, poets: show us GREATNESS.

It is hard to pinpoint greatness when it comes to blogs.  What makes a blog great to me may not make it great to you.  I like a blog that is grammatically correct, one that shows expression, passion and beliefs.  I like to be entertained and educated.  In one aspect, I like a good homemade comic with a dose of sarcasm and in another, I like to read a really interesting entry about someone’s personal experience or to read about anything that will give me more knowledge on a particular subject.

It is all a matter of opinion and I say this because I look at the traffic of my blog.  The entries that I don’t really care for or don’t think are up to par get more attention and acknowledgement than the ones I write with so much passion and really feel are great entries.  So it all depends on what appeals to the reader.  I will continue to write about things that I feel passionate even if they usually get less attention and hopefully, my blog will be great to someone one day.

At the end of the day, it is not the blog who aspires to be great but the mind behind the madness.

  1. So true regarding, “The entries that I don’t really care for or don’t think are up to par get more attention and acknowledgement than the ones I write with so much passion and really feel are great entries.”

There are posts that I’ve written and labored over with great pride that didn’t get half as much love as others I’ve written in a minute. Beauty really is in the eye of the beholder.
