Stagnant in Staten Island [Daily Prompt: Might As Well Jump]

Daily Prompt: Might As Well Jump.

What’s the biggest risk you’d like to take — but haven’t been able to? What would have to happen to make you comfortable taking it?

Photographers, artists, poets: show us JUMP.

Ready, set, JUMP!  I’d like to up and leave New York, travel the world, experience life in as many places as I can and gain that life experience that I wouldn’t have staying stagnant in Staten Island.  I would leave the home, the job, the car and the life behind me to search for the true meaning of life but not just any life, the meaning of my life.  Soul search for the purpose, teach myself true independence and become a stronger human being.

I haven’t been able to do it and you know why; well it’s as cynical as it gets.  MONEY.  I don’t have the money and yes, it is an excuse but it’s a valid one.  I don’t have the money to drop everything and go.  So another man, another woman, who does have the money, dictates to me how I should experience my life because I am a slave to finance since it’s the way we survive.

I would have to find a job that pays me my worth, save money and then experience life the way everyone should.  Once I do that, I will be jumping a lot more.
